Careers

Build a clinical career with real supervision behind it

Cheryl L. Andrews & Associates is a small boutique group practice in Charlotte and Atlanta. We hire deliberately, and we develop the clinicians we hire.

Dr. Andrews is the lead clinician and an approved clinical supervisor in four states. That shapes who we are able to hire: associate-level clinicians here are supervised in house, under a named developmental model, by the person who owns the practice.

Who We Are

A practice organized around function

Our work asks one question across every service line: how is this concern affecting the way a person actually lives, works, learns, and participates, and what will help? That lens runs through Clinical Function and Accommodation Consultation, Function-Focused Psychotherapy, and Clinical Supervision.

Clinicians here carry real clinical responsibility and get real support for it. We are small enough that you will not be anonymous, and structured enough that you will not be improvising.

Associate-level · NC and GA

Clinical Associate

Credential required: LCMHC-A in North Carolina, or LPC-A in Georgia.

Clinical Associates provide direct clinical services under supervision while building toward independent licensure. Supervision is provided in house and treated as development, not as a block of hours to be ground through.

  • Provide individual psychotherapy and assigned clinical services
  • Complete assessments, treatment plans, and documentation
  • Participate in weekly individual and group supervision
  • Build competence in ethics, risk assessment, and case conceptualization
  • Work toward licensure milestones with structured developmental planning

We are especially interested in clinicians drawn to the place where disability, mental health, and the practical demands of work and school meet, whether the disability is psychiatric, physical, or both. A rehabilitation counseling background, or a career spent near disability and employment, is a strong fit. Years of experience matter less than the interest.

  • Support Clinical Function and Accommodation Consultation work
  • Help translate clinical concerns into workplace and school function language
  • Contribute to documentation review, accommodation planning, and return-to-work strategy
  • Grow into independent consultation work with direct mentorship

Supervision toward independent licensure is included at no cost to you.

Student Counselors join the practice for field placement rather than employment, so that pathway lives with supervision. Details on caseload, supervision, site contracts, and hour tracking are on the Clinical Supervision page.

What We Look For

Beyond the credential

  • Clinical honesty. You can say what you do not know and ask for consultation before it becomes a problem.
  • Documentation discipline. Notes that reflect the clinical reasoning, not notes written to close a chart.
  • Disability-informed practice. Comfort working with neurodivergent clients, chronic illness, psychiatric disability, and functional barriers without reducing anyone to a diagnosis.
  • Follow-through. Care coordination that actually closes the loop with the people around the client.
  • Cultural responsiveness. Practiced, not professed.
What We Offer

Support that is structural, not just stated

  • In-house clinical supervision under the Integrative Developmental Model
  • A defined onboarding and orientation process rather than a desk and a login
  • Regular case staffing and consultation access
  • Documentation templates, clinical standard operating procedures, and a supervisory review workflow
  • A practice small enough that your clinical growth is visible and supported
  • Work across the Charlotte metropolitan area, with secure telehealth
How to Apply

Applying

One online application, reviewed by Dr. Andrews directly. Applications are not reviewed if they are emailed to the clinical inbox.

Submit an application

A single online application, about fifteen minutes. It asks for your licensure, your training, and three short questions about the clinical work you want to be doing. Attach your resume or curriculum vitae at the end.

There is no cover letter. Your answers to those three questions are what Dr. Andrews reads first.

What Happens Next

After you apply

  1. Initial conversationA first conversation about fit, caseload, supervision needs, and what you are looking for.
  2. Clinical conversationA deeper discussion of clinical reasoning, documentation, ethics, and how you think through a case.
  3. Credentialing and onboardingLicense verification, credentialing where applicable, and structured orientation before you carry a caseload.

Dr. Andrews reviews every application personally. Because the practice is small, a reply may take a couple of weeks.

Not seeing your role?

If you are a counselor whose work fits what we do and you do not see a matching posting, apply anyway using the Clinical Associate application and tell us what you are looking for. We would rather know who you are before a role opens than after it closes.
